Known as the marvelous city because of its stunning natural landscapes, the city of Rio de Janeiro has reached a new milestone: the home of the Latin America’s fastest growing tech park.
With leading academic institutions highly focused on engineering and computer sciences, Rio is the leader in number of incubators and accelerators producing more startups than anywhere else in Brazil.
The city is also home to 45% of the asset management portfolio, 51% of pension fund assets in the country and has been in the radar of domestic and foreign investors from Silicon Valley and other regions.
Still, Rio has unique challenges ahead, including the pre-salt oil reserves, health, education and infrastructure.
