Brazilian company Keppe Motor is in San Francisco competing in the Global Grand Challenges of Singularity University’s global summit.
The event awards companies that can positively impact humanity, in various sectors. BayBrazil first heard about Keppe Motor last April, when we were contacted by its team. We helped the company with connections in Silicon Valley who became part of team and assisted in the award’s application. We wish them much success!
BayBrazil: What is innovative about Keppe Motor’s technology?
Rodrigo: The technological principle of the Keppe Motor is based on a new approach on the philosophy of physics called Magnetonics. Developed by the renowned Austrian-Brazilian scientist Norberto Keppe. Keppe Motor uses the principle of resonance . It works as both motor and generator simultaneously, recovering the energy produced through its exclusive and patented EMT system (Electro magnetic turbo). Keppe motor inaugurates a new category of motors called RC (resonant current) motor.
BayBrazil: How does the motor compare with other motors in the market today?
Rodrigo: In the market today there are two types of electric motors. AC and DC motors. RC motors are more efficient due to its principles that says that every system in the state of resonance achieves naturally its maximum efficiency. In addition other advantages are: lighter, more suitable for battery powered application, use recycled material such as plastic, cool running motor, longer life and more reliable, smaller motors more compact.
BayBrazil: Tell us about the practical application of the motor. In which products has the technology been tested so far?
Rodrigo: Resonant current motors can be applied to any application where electric or combustion motors are required. Our motor have been tested and certified up to 1 HP.
BayBrazil: Considering how hard it’s to innovate in Brazil, what does it mean to represent the country in the challenge awards of Singularity University?
Rodrigo: It is an honor to represent our country in such a distinguished event however, we have to seek international recognition because unfortunately technological incentives are not a priority in Brazil.
BayBrazil: What is your vision on the impact of energy efficiency technologies on humanity?
Rodrigo: Considering that electric motors consume almost 50% of all the energy produced and knowing that half of the them are inefficient, Keppe Motor is the solution. We are disrupting physics towards free and clean energy. Solar and wind power generation will be the future and Keppe Motor is the most suitable motor technology for it.
BayBrazil: We wish much success to the team!
Rodrigo: Thank you to BayBrazil team for connecting us with Silicon Valley and the right people.
