BayBrazil, Silicon Valley Bank and O’Melveny & Myers present:
VC funding in Brazil, a conversation with Anderson Thees
When: Wednesday, Aug 14, 2013, 6pm-8:30pm
Location: Kellogg Auditorium, Silicon Valley Bank, 3005 Tasman Drive, Santa Clara, CA 95054
There have been over 50 IPOs in Brazil over the last decade across a number of different sectors. Investments by both Brazilian and foreign private equity funds have fueled this phenomenon.
In the past three years, various Silicon Valley firms started to invest in Brazil. The first firm to establish local presence was Redpoint e.ventures, a joint initiative of Redpoint Ventures and e.ventures (previously known as BV Capital), with a dedicate team and fund to the region.
The firm has focused on mobile and consumer internet sectors and invested in companies such as Viajanet, an online travel agency, and Sophie and Juliete, a fast fashion jewelry site.
On August 14 we will have a conversation with Anderson Thees, Founding Partner of Redpoint e.ventures in Brazil.
A Brazilian born and raised, Anderson will talk about his journey as investor, his perspective on Brazil and his view on the Brazilian startup scene.
This event will be open exclusively to BayBrazil members. Join BayBrazil today!
Guest speaker: Anderson Thees, Founding Partner, Redpoint e.ventures
Moderator: Andy Tsao, Silicon Valley Bank
