The devastating floods in southern Brazil have impacted 2.3 million people.
Rains that started in late April swelled rivers and lakes causing the greatest devastation in Rio Grande do Sul in recent years.
169 people have died and 600.000 have been displaced.
Floodwaters have receded but the situation remains challenging as last week’s rainfall caused rivers to rise again.
Top priorities in the 469 affected municipalities are now residue cleanup, road repairs and temporary housing building.
The region needs all help it can get so we are organizing a music performance to raise funds for the victims.
On June 22nd BayBrazil will gather 5 local Brazilian & American musicians of our community for an evening of choro, jazz, bossa nova!
Join us to meet our guests, savor Brazilian salgadinhos and show your support for those in need.
June 22nd, 6pm-8:30pm, in Oakland
